Gap Year

Generally students leave a year after completing their higher secondary education. This is called gap year.  Students believe that there should be some rest for them after 10 years of hardworking. Some students enjoy these days while others join university education without leaving a year.
Some students preferred to extend their studies rather than taking a gap year. They said that they already got 4 months after leaving school. And that is enough for them to enjoy with their friends and family.

Leaving a gap year is not an advisable. Because it leads to lose enthusiasm for studies and students may forget how to study too. After joining a full time job, some students find it difficult to leave the job as they began to have much interest on the job and the company. Most of the time students leave their higher studies and start to build their life and more over enjoying the gap year is simply waste of time and money.
However, on the other hand gap year gives many advantages to the students. During the year students will be able to explore different societies and cultures. This helps to learn other people's lifestyle and traditions and will be able to exchange views and ideas as well.  Also it helps to become aware of the developing world. In addition it refreshes the minds and strengthens the mental abilities.
During the holidays students can play outdoor games and activities like football and volleyball frequently. This improves their physical strength and endurance.
One of the problems that most of the students face is lack of money for higher studies. Gap year will give a chance to earn enough money for further education.  This is a good way to gain working experience that you may find useful later in your life.
From all the advantages the one I like most is that gap year gives us time for our own self studies. I like this idea because it helps us to learn through various researches. I don't agree on the fact that we cannot study without the guidance of a teacher. It may be because I usually love to spend hours on my own studies.
In a nutshell, I can say that it is a good idea to leave a gap year before continuing further studies, since it gives us thrilling experiences and valuable lessons.
