 Simple and easy steps to get your business listed on yahoo maps.

 Yahoo is one of the world’s most visited search engine. Around 700 million people visit yahoo each day. You can improve your business by listing it on yahoo. So let’s get started to list your business now to attract millions of customers to your business. Here are simple steps that will guide you on how to list.

1)      Go to http://listings.local.yahoo.com/overview.php and click “Sign up”. That will take you to a page, which will ask you to sign in by entering your yahoo ID and password. If your new to there and don’t have any account you can create new account by clicking “Create New Account”. Or simply you can sign in by using either Facebook or Google.

2)      After you clicking sign in, the next page will show a page to submit your business information. You must fill the following fields

Account Contact Information

1.       First Name

2.       Last name

3.       Email

4.       Phone

Business Information

1.       Business Name

2.       Address

3.       City

4.       State

5.       Zip code

6.       Business Phone

7.       If you’re listing online business you have to enter website.

8.       Primary Category. (Enter 3 or more letters of a word to this field, so that you can see a list of categories.)

3)      After that click “Continue”. And a part named Optional Business Information will appear at the bottom of the page. Providing the required information will enhance online visibility of your business. Hence it will help you to increase you popularity among customers. But remember this is optional. If you don’t want to fill, you can omit this part and click “Preview Listing”.

The options include the following fields.

Additional Business Information (Other Contact Information and Social Media)

1.       Toll- Free Phone

2.       Additional phone

3.       Fax

4.       Facebook URL

5.       Twitter URL

6.       Then select your business photo by clicking “Browse” button. This will show a pop up screen which requires you to enter a file name in your computer (select a photo that you want from your pc) and then click “Open”. Then the photo will be uploaded to that field.

Hours of Operation (Business Hours)

1.       You can select your business hours. Then select “24 hours a day”. If hours of business operation are not 24 hours a day then choose “Specify below” and select specific time. Or else select “Do not display”.

2.       Then complete the “Other Information” field. You can enter maximum 100 characters.

Other Operation Details (Payment, Languages, Associations, Brands, Products and Services etc...)

1.       Year Established

2.       Accepted payment methods. (Choose any one method from the list).

3.       Professional Associations (Maximum 999 characters are allowed)

4.       Brand Carried (Maximum 3,000 characters are allowed)

5.       Languages Spoken (Maximum 999 characters are allowed)

6.       Products and services (Maximum 999 characters are allowed)

7.       Specials. (Maximum 3,000 characters are allowed)

4)      Once you have completed the optional part, click “Preview Listing”. This will show a screen which provides the preview of your business on yahoo. Then click “Close preview”.

5)      After that they will ask you to type a captcha code in the field “Type the code shown” field by looking the image at the top of the field.

6)      Check the box “I agree to the Yahoo! Local Listings Terms of Service for Basic Listings and to the Yahoo! Small Business Terms of Service.”  And click “Submit Information”.

7)      Now it’s time to get verification code.

There are 3 ways which you can get a verification code. You can receive your verification code with a phone call or you can receive it by SMS (Standard text messaging rates apply). Or else you can receive your code via postal mail to your business location.

After that enter the provided verification code and click “Verify code”.

Now you’re done. Just wait 3 to 5 business days for Yahoo to review your business listing.
