List your business on bing maps

32 simple steps to get your business listed on Bing maps.
Bing is one of the top three search engines in the United States, with millions of users searching for local businesses. So why not list your business on Bing maps and attract thousands of customers towards your business. Here are 32 simple easy steps to get you started.

1)    Make sure that your business is not already listed on the Bing Business Portal
First go to http://www.bing.com/businessportal and click Gets started now. Then search whether your business is already existed or not by entering the following details
1.    Business name
2.    Address
3.    City
4.    State
5.    Zip code

2)    Get your business listed
If you’re not already listed, click the link Add new listing. When clicking, ensure that you have all the information required. You must have the following information to complete the first step.
1.    Business name
2.    Address
3.    City
4.    State
5.    Zip code
6.    Country
7.    Phone number
After entering the required information type the verification code and click “Ok”.

3)    Fill the information in the pop up screen
Next a pop up screen will appear. Complete the personal information in the screen by entering the information below
1.    First name
2.    Last name
3.    Phone number
4.    Email address
5.    Confirm email address
After that select the check boxes which are optional and then click “Accept”.
4)    Once you had listed and are in the portal, if you don’t see your company name, you can click the “Add” button to enter your company’s information. Then enter your business name, Address, City, State and Postal code, and click “search”

5)    When you searched your company, click the claim button next to the current business listing.

6)    Next, enter the security code in the field and continue. And sign in to your windows live ID


7)    To complete the registration process you can use your company’s email address. Select “yes, use my email address.”

8)    Enter your email address, give a password, re- enter the password, choose a security question and provide a secret answer to it. Then type the verification code and click “continue”


9)    The next screen will ask some personal question about the person completing the listing and also about home location. Fill the following fields and continue;
1.    Birth date
2.    Gender
3.    Industry
4.    Occupation
5.    Job title (optional)
6.    Marital status (optional)
7.    Children in household (optional)
8.    Country/Region
9.    State
10.  ZIP code

10) The following screen will ask you to review and sign the agreement. To finish this step you will need to enter your email ID in to the field and click “I accept” at the bottom of the page.
Then you will be asked to verify your email address. Check your email inbox for a verification mail.

11) The link in the email will take you to a page. Click “Finish” to go to MSN home page.(www.msn.com)

12) In the search field enter your Company name, City and state abbreviation, and then click “Search”.  Now you should see your company listed in the result


13) Click on your company name on the left column below the title “Listing”, so that the company name will highlight in blue color. After that click the details tab at the top of the current page.

14) Fill the fields in detail tab completely. Make sure to adjust the following details:-
1.    Business name
2.    What kind of business is this? Click the blue box to find available categories. Select the category that fits to you.
3.    Address
4.    City
5.    State
6.    Phone number
7.    Website URL or address
8.    Facebook URL
9.    Twitter URL
10.  Logo already if you have a one

15) Link directly to the web pages that you know your customers often use, such as the product catalogues, contact us, etc…

16) To add a logo just simply clicks the blue button at the top left corner of the logo field. Then click upload and browse the logo from your computer by clicking the open button when you selected your logo.


17) The logo will appear in the logo field and click “Next”.

18) This will take you to the profile tab; here you can choose five categories. Choose from the list or search by typing a term in the search box.


19) Once you had finished click “ok” to save. Next, you will see a group of sliders – the blue bars above the orange area can be dragged to up and down. This shows how much of your business is in which specialty.  Once you had finished your adjustments, click “Next” If you want review or edit categories click “more info” icon in the specialties field.

20) The mobile tab will offer you a free mobile site and QR codes via Bing; complete this section if you want to learn more about them. When ready click “Next” to continue to the photos tab.


21) The photo tab will allow you to upload 9 photos to your current listing. Reorder the photos if you want and set the key areas of your images. This will ensure that the most important part of the photo is displayed no matter where it is used or what media type. You can also add captions to your photos.

22) Upload the pictures and organize it, after that click “Next”


23) The more detail tab allows you to enter other information such as year established, company slogan, business description, language spoken, hours of operation, payment options, list of brands carried, and professional affiliations. Click more info icons to edit the fields.

24) In order to edit your location’s hours of operation, select the check box after “Display hours of operation”, and then click “Set Hours”. A pop up screen will appear soon. Use the drop downs to select the correct times for each day. Select “Closed” for the appropriate days. When u have finished click “Ok”. Click “Next” to go verification tab.
25) For verification of your listing, you will need to select from one of the available way. This short process will helps to protect your listing from unauthorized changes. Please select either “Verify by telephone” or “Verify by mail”. (Verify by mail is not verifying by email but it is sent via the postal service. And this is slow process compared to Verifying by telephone)

26) Verification by telephone steps;
You will need to be at the business location for this step. Your main phone number will receive a call from Bing and will need to answer by a human, not by automated phone system. Click “Call Me Now”. The PIN will then appear. Listen carefully to the computerized voice’s instruction, and then enter the PIN when prompted.

27) Verification by mail steps;
To verify you’re listing by receiving a letter via the US postal Service click the “Verify” button next to your address. Then a letter will be send to your address location.

28) Once the call is completed or the letter with the PIN arrives, enter the PIN you received. A message box will appear then.

29) At last click “Next” to complete the final tab, which is called publish. The final stage is to publish all of your changes live to the internet. To do that simply clicks the “Publish” button. The screen will show a pop- up “Submitting...”
30) When the process is complete, a message will appear, “Thank you for publishing your business listing to Bing. Processing times will vary, but you can check the status of your listing at any time by navigating to the Listings page. Please note that all business listing content is subject to review before being published.”

31) Click “Close” at the bottom of the page you will see a message.


32) Tip: To view you’re listing online click the “View” button.
